Ozen Resort: Luxurious Bhutanese Escape with Panoramic Mountain Views

A group of 20 persons, mostly senior citizens, stayed 5 days in Ozen resort Bhutan: A beautiful, propery, comfortable, modern Villa with full kitchen , family launge on the ground floor. This was our den for the group to enjoy our evening party , chatting, gupshup, indoor games….it was warm and cozy like home away from home. The villas are well equipped with all amenities plus heating systems in all the rooms and even the bathrooms. Big glass windows even in the bedroom can give views of the himalayan ranges and beauty of Bhutan. The staff was very courteous, caring, and ready to fulfill the requirement (imagine 20 difficult senior citizens). We felt very special. The chef has provided a variety of vegetarian food, from Indian, Thai, Vietnamese…very delicious and hot meals. The highlight was to provide brunch with tea at the heights with 180°view of himalayan ranges  on the way to Punakha. The manager arranged total explorations and travel arrangements from Pickup to drop off with the guide. The last day was kept to relax, including the pampering at spa. Almost everyone enjoyed very professional spa treatments. I’m recommending this place to stay and explore the most amazing place Bhutan to all my family and other friends.

Had an opportunity to live in Ozen Resort, Paro, Bhutan for five nights in last week of October’2024. The minute we landed in Paro, we were welcome very warmly by the resort staff. For all through-out our stay there, we experienced very warm hospitality. The staff is very friendly and polite, ensuring our comfortable stay. There are 28 staff members other than bus driver, guide and the general manager. The chef’s preparation of meals were finger licking. The property is located at height of about 3000 meter in middle of Himalaya range of mountains. 180 degree view of the mountain peaks (in absence of clouds) is breathtaking. I thought it may cause Oxygen scarcity, but due to abundance of greenery the fear got evaporated. All villas are distanced appropriately giving a spacious feeling. Villas are pleasantly painted in Bhutan’s culture. Basic amenities makes the stay very comfortable – like heating the rooms and bathrooms, kitchen, heated water in the taps, well furnished, etc…  The most pleasant surprise was when our group members gathered in one of the villas where it has Meditation facilities – with gongs for sound baths. The main kitchen and dining are well furnished and connected rooms thru golf cart, when required. 

Being a Sagittarian, I am a compulsive traveller, yoga enthusiast and nature lover. A resort nestled close to the foothills of the mighty Himalayas, surrounded with verdant pine trees, chirping birds and multicoloured buntings hanging from the trees heralding peace and prosperity!  Each villa in the resort has a fireplace with logs of wood ready to be lit in the cool evenings giving it a cosy warm ambience. We were surprised to find umbrellas and walking sticks for hiking in each villa. An electric outage emanating from a short circuit in villa 12 was efficiently tackled by the management in an hour.  Coming back in the evening to the resort after a long trip to the city or Thimphu we would find the ever smiling staff ready with warm hand towels and piping hot ginger tea or tomato soups melting away our tiredness. It is these small attentions to traveller comfort that makes Ozen resort get a 5 star rating from us.

I am an avid traveller and have  travelled solo to  Bhutan earlier in 2012 too, this time joined the group initiated by Joharis  the group  and the stay at   resort enable an all togather very different experience, the beautiful interiors of villas, the quality  furniture and toilet comfort were next to luxury, with the presence of meditation hall nothing more can be wished for. The landscape is amazing from the resort ,with garden work in progress the surrounding will be beautiful too. During the stay the sound  meditation conducted by Nishaji and Satyendra ji with help of precious gongs was the cherry on cake . Staff is  good, enough for the new resort. Delightfully passing the  praise and beautiful experience through  word of mouth to friends and families.

Travelling with the group of 20 beautiful persons and staying at Ozone villa 8 is not a exploration of tranquility but an glimpse of enlightenment. Silence is a language makes you communicate with Nature. Ozone is the place to hear , understand and appreciate this language. Ozen as a resort is designer’s delight in terms of space and simple decor and Hallmark of service,hospitality warmness,smiles which we will cherish for long time. Ozen and Bhutan are in my future Bucket list with family and Grandchildren.

Beautiful Bhutan – Went to Bhutan 10 days ago with group of 10 couples .. mostly strangers  , ready to travel to Himalayas and staying at ‘Ozone resorts’  located at 3000 meters heights kept us on edge. But working in medical college, as a General Surgeon and dealing with deadly disease like Cancer  through out  my life ( more than 40-45 years, ) gave me strength to deal with whatever comes. To our surprise group became a family and Ozone our beautiful home with in no time. Natural beauty beyond imagination , Himalayan peaks looking at us over the clouds, who can ask for more.  Very tastefully done, class villa decor with all the amenities  available, spic and span rooms. Delicious meals and helpful staff made living absolutely relaxing. Despite difficult terrain, travel by bus with a helping guid and very jovial and fun loving driver was icing on the cake . I am sure Our pics of Ozon villas and Bhutan travel will attract many groups, seeking solace under serene Himalayan peaks and valleys.
